Rarely do major underlying disorders or diseases cause problems with the feet. The majority of foot problems are brought on by accidents or poor foot care. Consult this questionnaire if you have any foot discomfort, itching, or soreness, or if your feet start to look abnormal in any way.
TAKING CARE OF YOUR FEET
Occasionally, wearing shoes that are too small can cause toe deformation and the growth of unpleasant ailments like bunions and corns. Make sure the shoes fit properly and have room for the toes to expand out when purchasing them. Only wear high heels and pointy toe shoes if you won’t be standing or walking for an extended period of time. They are likely to harm your feet and force you into an awkward position, which could cause backaches.
Foot care
To lessen the chance of developing a fungus infection (athlete’s foot), wash your feet every day and dry them completely between your toes. Wear wool or cotton socks; these materials are better at absorbing moisture than synthetic ones. Apply hand cream if the skin on your feet is dry or cracked.
Toenails
Regularly trim your toenails but avoid clipping them too short as this could harm the skin underlying. Always maintain a straight cut on your toenails.
